Steve at Durham discus does second hand ones and he nearly always puts new carts in which are £40 a set. I got the one that flooded my house out for £45 lol

Yes 3 stage has an added sediment filter, means if you have mains water pipe cleaning near you it will pick out all the rubbish that they blast through. Where are the brand new ones for £50. You got a link and ill have a look.

Looks decent enough, how many litres do the carts last though, couldn't see on the description.

Can't find out on the site how long the carts last. ut you won't be changing tonnes of water so should be fine. I just note down every day how much water in changing so I know when to get new carts. How are you planning on using it, straight from tap to tank or storing water?

What percentage and frequency of water changes will you be doing, u may be able to run the hma directly to the tank.

The mrs will kill me if I have hose running through the house lol. I'm aiming to complete the water change at least once a week if not twice, at 50L a turn.

Is that on your Roma 240? Id want to be doing higher volume changes than that, but I'm from the new school of thought that 50% changes are the way forward. I'd just use dechlorinator if you are only changing small amounts. Seachem prime off eBay is only £15 a bottle and will last you ages. It also detoxifys ammonia by turning it to ammonium.
