Guppy

Post by FrazzleDazzle on 20/10/2011, 22:24

Hi all, can't decide whether to get rid of my guppies or not!! Had a few of the males since i started my tropical venture, but now after adding a load of females i've got a fair few fry kicking about. I'm passing the fry on but not sure if i want to keep the adults! Been considering just a cardinal tetra/corydora tank and getting another 10/15 tetras. Hmmm!

Any thoughts on what to do?

keep the adults mate, the fry should atleast provide free food or credit from the shop you pass onto.

Aye, i've given them 50 odd fry already this month, mental. Received 2 big tubs of flake and 5 packets of live food which i was pretty happy with. Keeps it going.

i agree, keep the guppys and it pays for your food. why dont you set up a seperate 2 foot tank just for the guppys and use their offspring to pay towards the hobby.

beware though as i done this with bristlenose plecs and its escalated to having 5 tanks. id have more aswell but havent the room lol

Haha i've got the tanks but i'm trying to use them for other species. Eventually will have one with Tiger Barbs in and another with an Apistogramma trio in...don't think i'll be allowed another! They're okay in my community tank just fancy getting more Tetra as i've only got 7 for now.

you can never have too many tanks Laughing i've even been tempted by a L shaped tank on ebay but the boss has put the brakes on that on mind it was over 12 foot in total
