Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
This is a common problem with plants I know this sounds a bit nuts but you can get assassin snails we have those and they eat the snails or you could get some loache's as they eat them also, where did you purchase your plant's from?

Hi thanks for your response I purchased plants from pet mania billingham, maidenhead aquatics & padock farm do you know if the white stuff is from the snails do the assassin snails eat all the other snails and not breed if so how many do you think i will need also what sort of loachs are you talking about I have seen some anti snail treatment from interpet but have read mixed reviews

Clown loaches love to devour snails. They also have cool characters. If u ever need to treat tank tho u must be carefull as they are scaleless & u may need to half dosage
I had snails...till I got clowns.
Added loads of new plants lately, even some off eBay & not a snail in sight!

Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
Your more than welcome you have to be very careful with any snail treatment we have heard mixed reviews also, the assassin snails do unfortunately breed but they do eat other snails I don't think they breed as fast as the common snails but if you get maybe 3 or 4 as we have 5 in a four foot tank and they are doing a seriously good job and they don't eat your plants either, as for the loaches we have dwarf loaches but as I you can also get yo yo and clown loaches but the clowns grow quiet large in size it is best to get four or five of these as they prefer to live in groups.

Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
I have 3 clowns which have grown to about 3/4 inches
Bonus is that if you grow them to a good size then local pet shops likely to buy them off you at good price increase.
So u make profit too! I know maidenhead buy them when they are larger. They offered me good price for mine but I won't part with them till I have to

I also have 3 clown loaches in my front room tank 2 about 3inch and 1 about 7inch would it be a good idea to put the 2 smaller loaches in to my smaller tank for some dinner only concern is they are to big for the tank it is 80x45x35 and will they pull out my plants as they have only been in a coulpe of weeks also is the white stuff from the snails

Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
Clowns can react poorly to changing environment. I would consider buying some small ones to stay in tank rather than moving them about a lot in short period of time. Maybe if u left them a few weeks..then moved back once sure tank clear off snails & eggs...
Don't know bout white stuff as cant see clearly on my phone

Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
The loaches you are on about are ladderback loaches and we have them in the tank and they all play together and are fun to watch, they definitely do eat snails we have them in with baby bristlenose and various community fish and they are really friendly and don't bother the others so you should be ok and to top it all of I personally think they are very pretty.

Re: HELP I HAVE SNAILS
I had a floating tank in one of our main tanks and when I took it out it had the same things on that your plants have and when I looked at them under a magnifying glass you could see that they where little snails you might want to take one out and do the same to see if they are snails or not.
