My New Black Crown Tail Fighter

Well I did it again and purchased a black crown tail fighter from e bay but he is gorgeous lol he arrived today safe and sound which is good the only thing I was not happy with was the heat pack hadn't been activated properly so I am surprised that he was alive when he arrived, he is currently being quarantined so I haven't had chance to take any pictures yet but I am so pleased with him he is gorgeous.

Well I am pleased to say he seems to be doing really well he is showing off and looking good so it's a good start.

think its only melano females that are infertile hun.

Black/Melano: This is one of the hardest to get in its pure form, and is one of the most desirable colours to breed for in bettas. The whole body and fins are midnight black, and in its pure form, very beautiful. Males of this colour are very fertile, but a fertility problem rests in the females. It hasn't yet been proven, but there is a link between the Melano gene and the females' reproductive system that makes them infertile. To get blacks, the best combination is to cross a Melano male to a Steel Blue female. (If she carries the gene for Melano, then you've got it made). It is one of the most desired colours to breed and is a challenge to keep the quality. The chances of obtaining or raising a fertile TRUE Melano female are astronomical. So if you find one, let me know ASAP.

No he had a consignment of super delta tales in he still has some left and he has some half moon females and crown tails.

Thanks I am really pleased with them nearly got another one but I can't keep on buying them as I don't have the space at the minute lol

Well I am please to say that my new males are all settling in nicely and am hoping to put some more photo's of them tomorrow and my little red is happily building his bubble nest even if it is slowly I don't want to rush him

My male has made a large bubble nest behind the filter but he is also making them around the side to so I think he is trying to tell me he's ready lol so I am going to try introducing him to one of my females pictures to follow.
