Re: petmania stockton
Was in here also today, very disappointed with the Malawi selection available, in my opinion the selection was poor and the condition too. Mrs DH didn't like the look of any of the community fish. Pretty good selection, bot again just didn't look on very good condition, and a bit pricey : )

I would agree with this the first time I visited but on the second visit I thought quite the opposit! The tanks were sparkling clean and stocked to the brim! The cichlids section was better stocked than most and they had some rarer fish like the rays etc. I think this is a place on the up and is better everytime I visit, defo heading in the right direction.

I went in there yesterday for the 1st time and was quite impressed. Seemed a good selection and i didnt see any dead fish. Was nice to see some different types of fish.
Downside very expensive imo.
I can get 2 blue rams in my lfs for a tenner they were 18 quid in there.

Don't normally slate shops but after having purchased 20 rummynose tetra on Friday and just fishing out the 10th dead rummynose thought I'd give my views. All went into a mature tank that is being used for growing on my rams, lost 6 in 24 hours then 4 today. I know these are sensitive fish but this is ridiculous. As for the shop I didn't look at the tanks much as I only wanted the rummys, only thing I noticed was a male Siamese flaring his hips at another male, and yes they were in the same tank!

Someone needs a wake up call in that shop I reckon! Hate it when males kept in same tank. Doesn't take a lot to know better than that
Hope u don't loose any more fish

Re: petmania stockton
I'm expecting to lose them all now. Sure sign of bad stock imo, only reason I got them was that I was swapping fish. Bet the plecs I gave them are still alive!

We should really give the new guy the benefit of the doubt as he has only just started I am sure he will get it all sorted out.

Re: petmania stockton
So he may not even be there yet. Staff could be working without manager. That would explain that issue.
I've never bought fish from there only plants so can't judge about the deaths. Hope there are no more tho kris.

Re: petmania stockton
The only reason I ever go into pet mania is to buy food etc. I bought a few fuzzy mice for my snakes on Wednesday and they cost a fortune!! Never again getting them from there. Also when buying frozen fish food it's 4 packs for a tenner, anywhere else is 5 packs! And the freezer is always horribly under stocked and in dire need of a defrost!
