Re: Tiger Barbs
I have found mine to be really peaceful, I suggest get young n mix with slightly larger fish. They do chase others but only when new, I have found mine to just mind their own business after the initial investigation.

Re: Tiger Barbs
how big do they grow?
they will be the biggest fish i would think, all ive got is guppies, neons, 4 plecs, and a red shrimp.
what fish would you recommend adding to my tank to help them settle if i need bigger fish?
many thanks again tim

Re: Tiger Barbs
I would add some gaurami's instead. Tiger barbs are going to chase n nibble at the fins of your guppies. Dwarf gaurami's are nice, especially the bright blue ones a little red ones. I'll get the true names for then later 4 you.

Re: Tiger Barbs
just had a quick look they look nice, how much are these and where sells em. last time i had guaramis one fought everything else but that was a big silver one.
Re: Tiger Barbs
you can generally buy these from any decent pet shop/aquatic centre. One of the more common specamens, I'd still buy small and watch them grow. Costs probibly between £2-4 each.....some places may even have offers on. Prices and places are a bit hard to say exactly with me, dude and mick been a good 30-40miles from you. Personally I've never been that far afield to buy things for my tank.

Re: Tiger Barbs
gouramis are fairly peaceful ive got loads gold ,opaline ,pearl and a mix of gold x oapline all had no probs the most peaceful and bonnyest is the pearl or lace gourami they grow up to a max 5" indian and thick lip aere bonny as well and then comes the dwarfs in red ,blue and electric blue very pritty and fairly hardy then theres the honey about 1 1/2" bonny but a bit delicate but stay well clear of the chocalate and samurai as they are so finiky and die very easy ive had all of them
