my take on it is that the tank is too big for the pair and fry. its better to breed in a small 18" cube. this is because the fry will find the parents quicker and attach to them to feed. how far on are the fry getting? do they get to this stage? also if the tanks in a busy place then the discus could be getting spooked and therefore eating the fry.

Discus are more bothered about the eggs than the free swimmers, I had this problem, as soon as they are all away from the cone, take it out :D, don't forget they need daily water changes too! good luck!

I have never bred Discus, but my mate had a fish house full of them and I looked after them when he went on holiday, his trick was to use a tank divider when the fry were swimming to "trap" the parents and the fry in a restricted space until they were fully feeding off the parents, and yes the cone was the other side of the divider. Hope this helps.
