kribs

since i had a change of heart with the mini tank i set up i have decided that i am going to be going bak to kribs but wanted a slight change so i have chose the albino species which i seen in teesside koi last week, realy nice fish should be goin to get them over the weekend (fingers crossed)
as i decided on kribs i thought i best change the tank set up a litle so i put some sand in a small amount of java fern (at least this is what i think it is lol) which i will be getting some more of for extra coverage on the surface incase they end up with young for abit of extra coverage i got some amazon swords which i have just put in the tank, a small peice of bogwood to help with the ph and i also put 2 halfs of a clay pot in ther so they have somewer to go and a peice of slate. quite alot for a small tank will this be ok.
and since the tank is as litle as it is could i possibly put some smaller fish in ther such as guppies tetras so forth or shud i just leave its as purly kribs.

i carnt remember but i think there was 1 male and aload of females

Well i got my kribs nicley setled in the tank already digging the front cave out and female always showing off to the male realy nice colours with the white body and a strong orange on the dorsal and tail fin with the female showing her purple belly constantly iv tryed to get pictures but ther are so fast moving prety hard will keep on trying and post one up as soon as possible

well had a look in the tank earlier to see the female guarding the cave always in ther the male was at the front of the cave for it bit but went and done his own thing for abit so i got me torch out and had a look on the top of the cave to see loads of eggs cudnt get a picture cause of the angle of it was too awquard so tuk this of the female in ther instead

and you can see y its awquard to get a pic as my 2ft tank is right at the side of it aswell lol

well no more eggs now and the female is in a mood with the male by the looks of things anyway haha

i think they are getting ready to breed again females twitching for him to go bak in the cave so hopefully shud have some more eggs soon

Well got loads of eggs now in the front cave so should hav some young soon

eggs all hatched out now will be nice to see how many free swimming come out the cave

well i managed to get a few pics of the young kribs with ther parents carnt realy see them at the min but if you look hard enuff u can see a few ther lol

i swear they are ther sumwer haha supose ther not bad pics of the parents lol but just had a ruff count of them and thers about 60 - 70 i think.
and any tips on how to care would be appreciated cheers

how often shud i do water changes on the tank if it benefits them ??

still got a lot of young and they arent half growing ill get a pic up as soon as i get the chance

are kribs cichlids dene or just community fish. they look nice
