Can anyone tell me if these shrimp lose there shells? A bit like a snake loses its skin, either that or ive lost one. A just seen a shell go by and one of me rasboras snaffled it Shocked

as far as i know they moult their shells like snakes n spiders

they need to shed there exoskeleton to grow they are most vulnerable to be eaten wen they do this

Yeah, they do. I always leave them in there so the water doesn't lose any calcium - they dissolve/get eaten eventually.

Can anyone tell me what fish would eat the shrimp apart from Bettas. My shrimp are either hiding or dead. They used to be quite visible until i put this blue ram in. Any advice thanks. PS they were last seen (shrimp) under a piece of bog wood. Ta

ya rams will eat them they like meaty food if you have another tank with litle fish in or b/nose they would be fine with them

and a sponge filters best for them as theyll just sit on that as the waters getting suked into it and then yad know if u had any left then

a thought the ram was ripping at something in my ship wreck, thats what its been. Plus theres been a few of there skeleton type bodies.. ie white shells?

Got 5-6 out there from under a piece of bogwood and hoyed them in me 2ftr with the green shrimp. I will keep checking under the bogwood. Cheers Dene.
