Oscars Empty Oscars

oscars one of my favorate big fish grow upto 17-18" normally in a tank upto 14" eat most things very friendly to there owners always glad to see you but not very friendly to other tank mates when breeding they need a BIG tank i have bred oscars in the past not the easiest to breed or sex as there no differances between the sexes

i had 6 in 2 foot cube they out grown it sold 2 of them so had 4 they out grown the tank ended up buying bigger tank sold 2 the 2 had left had grown 14 inch that is still small they are gravel movers and sievet there foot they make a mess of tank but they are so intelitent you can train them to do tricks I dont have them any more they where the biggest fish I ever kept that was tropical

I had clarias catfish and they can grow quite rapidly, from an inch to 18 inches in a year. But keep a close fitted hood on the tank, they don't call them the walking catfish for nothing.

once had a pair of mozambiques took over a five foot tank in a matter of months bloody huge things until the day of the gas leak.
lost 2 tanks of very mature fish in one day never kept fish again until now sold tanks VERY cheaply just couldn't bear the sight of them for a while after that

he was actually bought as a black oscar when he was about an inch and a half, he was jet black with silver markings but as hes grown the colours are coming through. He did used to live with a tiger oscar but one night the tiger ripped him apart and was left with hardly any scales and a big open wound in his side.

he,s nice this 1 has half its top lip missing at the moment as they keep lip locking.
