Tropical House. 2 Birdsall Row.
Redcar, Cleveland, TS10 2AF
01642 477778
this little shop i found a long time ago and totally by accident its a very
small shop but offers so much in the way of fish and equipment and knowledge
if there something i cant find anywhere else i know I'll find it here this is one of my top
five shops it might not look up to date and the air pump noise and low lighting might put people off a bit i class this as a true aquarists shop where you can just about get every thing you need
for fish keeping.but i know when i go there is always a friendly hello when i go in

Agreed, an absolutley fantastic little shop staffed by genuine people who are always willing to offer advice and chat. Whilst the shop frontage or tanks may not be the cleanest in the area the fish more than make up for that..... well worth visit.

i first used that shop in 1983 when i got my first 3ft redsea aquarium with wrought iron stand and sliver aluminium hood...big bulky light unit that had to be hung on the wall next to the tank...and even back then they were a knowlegable quaint little shop and very welcoming....think i might have a pop thru as im in the market for a new redtailed black shark !..its just before the railway crossing on the right if i remember ?

Went there today and it was great! You can tell as soon as you go in there it's been around a while and they had so many interesting fish to look at. I was struggling to find otocinclus locally, so I asked the owner and he was like yes of course we have some! And I went home with 6 nice looking ones who are currently sucking away on the algae :D. He offered some nice advice, and made sure I was going to feed the fish on the right stuff. They have lots of nice looking tanks in there as well at good prices. The fish are not the cheapest you'll find but I bet they're all much healthier. I really liked how all tanks as least has some moss in there for plant life. Really easy to get to for me as well, right next to the station.

Yeah, fancied a day out, shame it was dark at 3pm! Or we would have had a look at the sea lol. But definately more to offer than what I found in Middlesbrough town Smile

That's good to hear shame about not seeing the sea but due to the front getting work done at the minute you can't really see a lot lol
