right some fry are upto about 10mm but theres a difference in the hatch rate and theres some with the forked tails now but no signs of a dorsal fin yet on any of them

That's Goldfish for you, Genes are not fixed, so you have to know the history of the fish you breed to get a large percentage of fry like the parents, that's the challenge Mick, to produce good quality fish to the standard.

right i have 3 tanks oranda 1,2,3 oranda
1 is the 3ft fry
2.is 18"x12
3.18"x12
now you know oranda 1 has fry 10mm long
2 has now got new fry
3 has now got new fry
both 2-3 are hatching as we speak

With that many fry you will need those two million gallons mate.

Your doing well with them, they are looking good I can see they are getting plenty to eat. What a waste Blooper not putting Goldfish in what is obviously a Goldfish tank, lol.

the orandas have been breeding in the show tank again thats two days on the trot not collecting the eggs just letting them get eaten so the females dont get egg bound

well been in the fish house all is well fry coming on nice some of the single tails are really putting theweight on now and look like they might be twin tails just late developers i hope so the actual twin tailers that had twin tails to start with are a lot slower in developing not as big as the others but are getting the same waterchanges and food

Mick, one way of making it easier to check tails and finnage is an old Japanese way, place fish in a white enamel of plastic bowl, take outside and look at the shadows of the fish on the base and side of the bowl.
( there is much to learn in the ways of the orient) lol.
