day 1 of breeding siamese...

Will get Betta pic in day light as that one does not do justice to them. They ready for lights out & not wanting to come up front like usual

Question- any harm in tank partitioned with young fry one side & adult male other side?
Heard they big fry give off chemical to slow the growth of siblings. Will having adult in same tank be an issue? Plastic partition in between the two.

Wouldn't have thought so as we have partitioned off one of our tanks and have full grown fish and baby fry on the other side and had no problem but it may not be right for all fish

Worth a try tho. Even if slows growth down that's fine as I lioke having the babies! Hope to have more in week or two!
Got it planned- male in big tank. Nest in new tank (hope)
And half fry and half male in 2nd tank
Until I get too many male fry I will be good. Hence the jam jar collecting! Hubby complaining as I store then all in top of fridge & they chink & rattle when he goes in it hunting for my choc stash!

lol them's the joy's of fish owning sure he will get used to it and I have my fingers crossed for you but I am sure you won't have much trouble getting another batch of fry.

Good idea that one like lol might have to try that myself, I am sure you won't have any trouble as he is obviously ready as he is building his nest and as you said his body is big so fingers crossed for you.

Lol! Destroyed his nest today. Added water so I can use in other tank. Plus caught him about to mate with escapee female jumped out of floter!!!!
He needs to hang in just a wee but more till his new home ready!

Obviously he is ready then and the teasing won't do him any harm typical male though lol he will soon rebuild his nest no doubt.

Yeah took all females away to save winding him up. He lonely now but won't b for long

well fry are 8 weeks old today & i let them out of net floater and let them have the run of the 30L
pics to follow but as they are pale coloured not sure how much u will be able to see. their tails have a hint of red that cant be picked up by camera at this time of night
