Looking at going external Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Currently got a fluval 4 internal which is only a few months old. But everytime a do a water change and check filters and media its minging. Now im not getting issues with cloudy water or anything but i just think it might be a better set up.

Now my only problem is ive got two compartments in my stand but they only 235mm wide and majority of the filters are wider. Anyone recommend any filters, thanks.

I think this one will just fit in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aquarium-fish-tank-external-filter-1000L-H-Free-Media-1000EF-/180741914368?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item2a150ebf00 my tank is 180litres will this one do the trick :HELP:

I'd look up the measurements if I were you. I got the biggest one they do, which I think is the next one up from that one and when it arrived I was quite shocked. It's HUGE!
