That's fantastic deb I got a nice female today from paddock farm it's albino but it's got green in it's fins I will have to put a picture on but she is adjusting at the minute so will probably be tomorrow.

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
ooh she sounds nice. spooky just been reading about albinos. apparently the pure white ones go blind early on and cant breed. good that she has a touch of colour as you should get some lovely coloured babies.
im hoping one of my females is fertile. she has a delicate black border around the edge of clear fins & silver/grey body. hope she hasnt got too much black which will make her infertile.she would breed some lovely colours!

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
well the few i have are still doing well. they seem to favour the liquifry stuff. well one in particular (cant tell if its always same one as to small!) well it seem to make a bee line for it as soon as i add a drop. not such an eager reaction for the other foods i use.
so glad u told me to use this mick. think its the reason i still have some alive. is there a point i should stop using it? and how old before the can have baby brine shrimp. got some eggs that i was thinking of hatching for food for them.
i also released about 8 of my molly fry into main tank today. they big enough to hold thier own. and the others might have a better chance to grow this way. guppy fry doing well too.
have moved male siamese into floater tank and gonna rotate him with the female every few days until she ready to be bred again. that way he cant torture her too badly and her tail can recover.

That's the best way to do it deb let her heal a bit before you breed her again as you don't want to lose her, glad the babies are doing well you will have to let me know how you get on with the brine shrimp eggs and glad your guppies are doing well the one's I got off moggy are settling in lovely.

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
I have the sri lankan guppy's and they are really pretty as they have a nice blue colour in them, not sure if one of the female's is already pregnant as she is looking really fat at the minute and the male's are chasing her like there's no tomorrow lol when they get a bit bigger I will take some pictures and put them on but they are lovely.

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
Sorry you have lost me here mick. I don't have females in with them. She was moved to the other tank. I've also moved the male out when he started to eat them. I watched him for 20 mins to be sure & he never spat out his mouthful. They seem to be doing fine in a floating net which is raised so the depth isn't too deep for them.

Lol! Java forms a v shape in middle of pic. One fry is nibbling it.
Don't blame you-I struggle without them in photo!
Going to get my new female today!

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
Well I was good! Was very tempted by black male guppy but only came home with 1 fish plus some live food.
Didn't get the red female crown as I fell for the blue & red one who is a very good size. Her egg tube is protruding already. I already have a couple young females so decided on the bigger one this time. Very good price too!!! Even before forum discount.

Re: day 1 of breeding siamese...
here she is. male loves her. all the females are flaring at her despite them being smaller than her. she is nice and rounded and ready to breed tho will let her settle first. touch of jealousy i think! my cream & red female is very possesive of the male when she comes near lol!
